Jesup Police arrested and charged LaVerne Sawyer, 38, of Jesup. Sawyer was charged with Assault (Simple misdemeanor). This arrest was made in the 800 blk Stevens Street when officers responded to a 911 hang up. Jesup Police were assisted by the Buchanan County Sheriffs Department.
Jesup Police arrested and charged Laura Speer, 43, of Jesup. Speer was charged with First Offense Operating While Intoxicated (Serious Misdemeanor). This arrest was made following a traffic stop in the 1200 blk Main Street.
