Jesup Police arrested Daniel Clarence Youngblut, 54, of Jesup. Youngblut was charged with Driving While License Revoked (serious misdemeanor), Failure to have SR insurance (simple misdemeanor), and Failure to have Insurance. This arrest was made following a traffic stop in 700 blk Sixth Street.

On November 24, 2009, Jesup Police attempted to stop a black Chevy Cavalier in the 1100 block of South Street for an equipment violation. The vehicle attempted to elude Officers and a pursuit was initiated. This incident came to a conclusion when the vehicle lost control and rolled into the ditch in the 1300 block of 220th Street. Jesup Police arrested Jake Lloyd Covault, 20, of Jesup. Covault was charged with First Offense Operating While Intoxicated (serious misdemeanor), Failure to have valid Drivers License (simple misdemeanor), Careless Driving (simple misdemeanor), and Attempting to Elude (serious misdemeanor).

The accident is being investigated by the Buchanan County Sheriffs Office. Jesup Police were assisted by the Buchanan County Sheriffs Office, Jesup Fire Department and Jesup Ambulance Service.

Jesup Police arrested and charged Thomas Michael Lee, 44, of Jesup. Lee was charged with Domestic Assault (simple misdemeanor). This arrest was made after Officers responded to a 911 call from 1000 blk Purdy Street.

Jesup Police cited and charged Derek Lewis Culpepper, 22, of Waterloo. Culpepper was charged with Driving While License Suspended (simple misdemeanor). This charge was made following a traffic stop in the 1200 blk D-22.

Jesup Police arrested and charged Delilah Rose Taylor, 33, of Mount Auburn. Taylor was charged with second offense Operating While Intoxicated (aggravated misdemeanor). This arrest was made following a traffic stop just south of the Highway 20 overpass.

On November 01, 2009 at approximately 12:07 AM, Jesup Police conducted a traffic stop in the 2300 blk Benson Shady Avenue. The driver of the vehicle, Colton Nichols, 18, of Jesup was arrested and charged with a .02 violation. Nichols was also cited for open container and possession of alcohol under the legal age. The passenger, Andrew Arbuckle, 18, of La Porte City, was cited for open container and possession of alcohol under the legal age. Jesup Police were assisted by the Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office.

Jesup Police arrested and charged Susan Colleen Larkin, 46, of Manchester. Larkin was charged with Driving While License Revoked (serious misdemeanor). This arrest was made following a traffic stop at the intersection of Fifth and Church.

Jesup Police took a report of a two vehicle accident at the intersection of Main and Young. A 1997 Plymouth Neon, driven by Ryan Thomas Boies of Jesup was stopped at the stop sign at Main and Young, and then preceded into the intersection. Boise did not see a 2003 Buick Park Avenue, driven by Merrel Donald Serfoss of Jesup turning West onto Young. The Boies vehicle sustained approximately $2,500 in damage; the Serfoss vehicle sustained approximately $1,500. Boise was cited for Failure to Yield right of way.

Jesup Police arrested and charged Kyle Edward Thompson, 21, of Jesup. Thompson was charged with Fourth Degree Theft (serious misdemeanor). This charge was made following a complaint from Schares Food Mart of a forged check.

Jesup Police took a report of vandalism to a mailbox in the 1200 blk North Street. This incident remains under investigation.

Jesup Police arrested and charged Donald Thomas Kemp, 35, of Jesup. Kemp was charged with Public Intoxication (simple misdemeanor). This arrest was made following Officers observation of Kemp in the 1200 blk Main Street.
