Jesup Police arrested and charged Kayla Leigh Fratzke, 18, of Jesup. Fratzke was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance (Simple Misdemeanor) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (Simple Misdemeanor). This arrest was made following a traffic stop at the intersection of Tenth and Hawley.

Jesup Police arrested and charged Donald Thomas Morse, 20, of Arlington. Morse was charged with Driving While License Suspended (Simple Misdemeanor). This arrest was made following a traffic stop at the Jesup exit on Highway 20.

Jesup Police investigated a two vehicle accident at Sixth and Hawley. A 2003 Pontiac Grand Am, driven by Scottie Linderman of Independence, was struck in the rear by a 1999 Pontiac Grand Am, driven by Kierston Nichols, of Waterloo. Both vehicles sustained approximately $3,500 in damage. Linderman was cited for Failure to use turn signal.

Jesup Police arrested and charged Dennis Hugill, 54, of Waterloo. Hugill was charged with Operating While Intoxicated First Offense (Serious Misdemeanor). This arrest was made following a traffic stop at the intersection of North Street and Main Street. Hugill was also cited for driving on the wrong side of Highway.

On 09/22/2009 at 12:48 PM, Jesup Police responded to a burglary in progress in the 400 blk Sixth Street. Upon arriving in the area, Officers identified the suspect vehicle leaving the area. Jesup Police stopped the vehicle in the 600 blk Fifth Street. After making contact with the driver, identified as Shaun Phelan, 31, of Waterloo, Phelan fled from the scene. Phelan was charged with Eluding Police (Class D Felony), Third Degree Burglary (Class D Felony), and Second Degree Theft (Class D Felony). Phelan was also cited for a Speed Violation and Failure to obey a stop sign.

At approximately 12:55 on 9/18/2009, Jesup Police took a report of a single vehicle accident in the 1200 blk Eighth Street. A 2004 Buick Park Avenue, driven by Marlene Mangrich of Jesup, lost control and struck a mailbox. Mangrich was cited for failure to Maintain Control.

Jesup Police charged Jose Angel Rosales, 25, of Waterloo. Rosales was charged with Providing False Information to a Pease Officer (Serious Misdemeanor). Rosales was also cited for a speed violation, having no driver’s license, and fraudulent use of plates. These charges were made following a traffic stop at the intersection of Fourth Street and South Street.

Jesup Police took a report of Harassment in the 12000 blk of Barclay Road. This incident remains under investigation.

Jesup Police investigated a one vehicle accident at the intersection of First and Douglas. A 1999 Chrysler 300, driven by Jesseray Kirby of Independence lost control after jumping the RR tracks. The Kirby vehicle jumped the curb and entered a cornfield. Damage to the Kirby vehicle was estimated at $4,000. Kirby was cited for a Speed Violation and Failure to Maintain Control.

Jesup Police investigated a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Twelfth Street and D-22. A 2008 Chevrolet Malibu driven by Sherry Farber of Independence pulled into the intersection causing a 2007 Honda motorcycle driven by Martin Conerd of Independence to loose control. Farber was cited for Failure to Yield Right of Way.

Jesup Police arrested Anthony Jon Rindels, 45, of Waterloo. Rindels was charged with Driving While License Suspended (Simple Misdemeanor), Operating a non registered vehicle, and failure to have insurance. This arrest was made following a traffic stop in the 1100 blk Eighth Street.
